The Department of Corrections has 24 institutions across the state with two of them housing female inmates, one is a boot camp which is co-ed and the rest house male inmates. The department has a vast varied of jobs ranging from corrections officer, Maintenace, administration positions, teachers, nurses and dietary workers just to name a few. Some of the positions require some experience and certain degrees however Corrections officer trainee is an entry level job starting at age 18.
