🛡️ What You'll Do
As a Corrections Officer Trainee, you'll play a vital role in maintaining security and order within state correctional facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring inmate behavior and conducting regular security checks.
Assisting in inmate adjustment to correctional processes and facility rules.
Participating in formal training covering areas such as sociology, psychology, court procedures, self-defense, leadership, and custodial responsibilities.
Responding to emergency situations and preparing written reports.
Working a 40-hour week, including shifts on weekends and holidays.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Starting Pay: $22.52 per hour.
Shift Differential: Up to $1.25 per hour.
Annual Salary: Approximately $46,986, with potential increases upon promotion.
Training: Five weeks of paid training at the DOC Academy in Elizabethtown.
Benefits Package: Includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, military leave, and retirement plans.
Retirement: Eligibility for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Uniforms: Provided at no cost.
