Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority serves all of Erie County. We are a mass transit company. There are many career paths at EMTA that provide excellent wages and full benefits (health/dental/vision insurance plus life insurance and short-term disability insurance and retirement plan).
If you like to drive, then come explore the driving opportunities available. You could drive a city bus which would require a CDL license with air brake and passenger endorsements. Or you could drive a LIFT van which requires a standard drivers license.
Perhaps you enjoy automotive/diesel repairs. EMTA has a full garage with Full-time mechanics servicing the fleet of buses to include diesel and CNG powered buses. Looking to the future, EMTA may soon add electric busses to the fleet.
Mass transit also needs good communicators to work in dispatch. These employees help guide the busses to the right location. Help with detours and other issues that arise during a day of driving a bus route. Dispatch also schedules rides for appointments, shopping trips and more.
Administration/Finance: EMTA also has administrative staff to oversee budgeting, finance, payroll, operating costs, ground keeping, building maintenance, training, safety and security.
