Barber National Institute is proud to participate in the Erie County Human Services Cohorts (HSC) Initiative, offering an exciting opportunity for professionals entering or advancing in Family-Based Mental Health Services.
As a Family-Based Mental Health Therapist within Barber's Behavioral Health service line, you will provide intensive, in-home therapy to children and families throughout the Erie, PA community. Using the Structural Family Therapy model—often alongside Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)—you and your co-therapist will work directly in homes, schools, and community settings to strengthen family systems, reduce psychiatric hospitalizations, and promote long-term stability.
This role is eligible for the HSC Initiative, which supports workforce growth and retention across Erie County's Health Choices agencies serving individuals impacted by mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and social determinants of health. As an HSC member, you will receive:

· A $6,000 Sign-On Bonus through Barber National Institute
HSC members commit to:
· Attending monthly cohort training sessions for two years
· Completing two years of full-time employment in a targeted role, including Family-Based Mental Health Services

• Must be at least 18 years of age and a member of the HSC Cohort
• Masters in social work, counseling, psychology, special education, related
• Two years of experience in the CASSP
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Eligibility for the following clearances:
• PA State Police Criminal Record Check
• Child Abuse History Clearance
• FBI Fingerprint Clearances (DHS & PDE)
• Willingness to attend WPIC Family-Based training and meet criteria
